Senate President Lawan, Okla Mourns as Covid-19 Claims Biggest Victim, Osinowo in Lagos East

The ravaging COVID-19 pandemic claimed its biggest victim in Lagos East yesterday, with the death of Sen. Sikirulahi Adebayo Osinowo, the Lawmaker representing the district at the National Assembly Lagos, who reported died after complications from the virus.

In a deeply mourning mood, The Agboyi Ketu Lcda Executive Chairman, Mayor Dele Oshinowo, confirmed the sad news when contacted yesterday said: ” My benefactor is gone”. Before his phone suddenly dropped.

The Agboyi Ketu Voice also confirmed the death in a terse statement posted on the council media handle:

“A good soul has passed on, a good man has gone up to heaven. With a heavy heart, we part our beloved Senator Bayo Osinowo.”

Until his death his been tested positive for COVID-19 few weeks ago wasn’t made public. It came to many people as a surprise because few weeks back he was seen physically in the defunct Tinubu Mandate Group wing of the All Progressives Congress (APC) series of leadership marathon meetings. It was also reported that pepper had underlying medical conditions the discussed in hush tones according to an insider source.

While alive, pepperitto was an influential figure and Political icon within the Kosofe, Lagos East.

Before moving to the National Assembly the Distinguished senator served for uninterrupted 16 years at Lagos State House of Assembly first in the history of Kosofe, he chaired mainly the land Committee. Works behind the scenes implementing Ashiwaju Bola Tinubu’s agenda.

He is also reportedly to be the stabilizer of state Assembly, who ensured no crisis in the house until recently.

Many of his associates, partners, supporters, family and friends disclosed that his act of charity to mankind knows no bounds.

As an avalanche of tributes poured in on Microblogging, especially Facebook and Twitter, on his official handle the Senate President, Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan said:

“I received with shock and sadness, the news of the death of the Senator who represented Lagos East Senatorial Zone, Senator Adebayo Osinowo.

‘Osinowo served his country creditably as a Distinguished Senator at the Ninth Senate. He was the Chairman of the Committee on industries.

‘The pains of Senator Osinowo’s untimely departure will be felt by his Distinguished colleagues and the National Assembly in general, said Lawn.

‘I condole with his family, friends, political associates and also the government and people of Lagos State over the loss.

“I pray for the sweet repose of his gentle soul and for God to grant those he left behind the fortitude to bear the loss,’ The Senate President prayed.

Hon. Sanni Okanlawon (Representing Kosofe Constituency 1) in his tribute message said:

“A rude shock, a big blow. A colossal loss to the Oshinowo’s, Lagos East Senatorial District, Greater Kosofe Local Govt and to us his immediate political family. May Allah accept his return Forgive his transgressions.

Indeed Kosofe federal Constituency has lost a giant, an elephant, a political master per excellent. The longest serving Lagos honorable for 16 years. his presence full of memory event that can not be forgotten or wipe away by history.

Truth is, God knows best, None of us has the moral justification nor Standard to question God about the death of pepperitto.

To many he lived an impactful life, doing good to those he his privilege to help, while to many it a sad story coming in contact with him. Above all, He came, He saw , he conquered.
