2023 House of Reps: Kosofe Constituency 1 gladiators says it’s Our turn

Barely 24 hours after President Muhammadu Buhari was sworn into office for the second term, in May 2019, political gladiators jostling to succeed him immediately commenced open and, subtle campaigns.
It’s not completely strange hearing Kosofe Constituency 1 gladiators saying it’s our turn to be in the lower Chamber of the National Assembly.
Recall the current representatives, from Kosofe Constituency 2, Honourable Rotimi Ojo Agunsoye is at the moment serving his second term of 8 years. Unlike the executive who has limited tenure while both state and federal lawmakers have unlimited tenure.
These provisions have made some Lawmakers to be in the State, and Federal Parliament since 1999 till date.
However, another man’s food is another poison, it’s completely a different ball game in Kosofe Federal Constituency as monitored over 20 years.
Whether a Lawmaker performance is outstanding or underperformed they are not allowed to serve more than two terms.

Honourable Dotun Animashaun, Honourable Dayo Bush all served two terms each.
It will be recalled that an attempt made by Dayo Bush to break the third term jinx in 2015 was violently resisted which pave way for the incumbent lawmaker, ROT as he is fondly called.
An Inside source allegedly said that, in 2015 ROT insisted on two terms each.
He doubted if the ‘Promise Keeper’ as Agunsoye is popularly called by his adherents followers will attempt going for third term as strong opposition to it.

Although, the silent operator, ROT has not disclosed his next ambition to anybody.
However, contrary to the insinuations that it’s the turn of Agboyi Ketu Lcda to produce the next MHR but Kosofe Constituency 1 said it’s our turn.
Other gladiators who spoke to Kosofe Post, under condition of anonymity said both Ikosi Isheri Lcda, where Rotimi hailed from and Agboyi Ketu Lcda, are in the same Constituency 2. Thus, insisted it’s the turn of Kosofe Constituency 1.
The death of Senator representing Lagos East senatorial District, Adebayo Osinowo from Kosofe Constituency 1, also worsen the situation.
Pepper would have gone for second term, the agitations from Kosofe Constituency 1 for the Rep ticket wouldn’t have arose to brighten the chance of the next representatives from Kosofe Constituency 2.
Also, Agboyi Ketu tenure in the Lagos State of Assembly was caught short as a result of the death of the former occupier, Honourable Tunde Braimoh’s, However, consoled with a juicy portfolio; Commissioner for Employment and Wealth Creation.
In Kosofe Constituency 2 comprising Agboyi Ketu and Ikosi Isheri Lcdas, have an elected Member House of Representatives, Commissioner, and Audit Board commission member among others.
