In an undated letter and endorsed by the 6units under the motorcycle operator association branch C, kosofe an affiliates of the the national union of road transport workers(NURTW), Lagos state made available to kosofepost correspondent confirmed their demands.
They allegedly said the current executives tenure had expired and called for its immediate dissolution. Adding that the present excos had spent 8years in office.
MOAS, Pleaded to their zonal and state executives to make adequate arrangement that will bring about free,fair and credible election. They further, stated that the outgoing excos members are free to contest in the election.
The association also prevailed on the Anthony Village‘Joint Cda’ to intervene in the matter in order to nip the looming fight and controversy within the community in bud.
Following the developments the executive chairman of the Kosofe LG Hon. Babatunde sofola reportedly summoned the representatives of the units to address and assured them that all the issues will be resolved amicably as gathered by the contacts closed to the branch C chairman Mr. Jelili.
Kosofepost, was also informed from a trustworthy sources that the DPO, SP Onon charles had written letter and sent to whom it may concerned in the community to attend a meeting stated for December 14, at 1000hours to discuss and tackle the issue in good time.
The email sent to the kosofe LG chief security officer, the council chairman to know his position since he had once intervened in the matter was yet to be replied as the time of posting this reports.
The truce meeting held at the Anthony Village police station at the instance of the DPO, SP revealed many thing’s after both parties made their submissions. However, a letter tender by the moas zonal and state representatives stating that the unity, branch, zonal and state excos tenure expires June 20, 2020 contrary to the claimed it has expired threw spanner into agitators protest letter.
Sighting the said letter tender by moas zoanl representative in attendance the DPO pleaded with them to exercise patient till the stated duration expired.
He took time to share his many experiences with the audience and the reasons he has not been hard on the okada riders in the course of pursing their daily bread despite their unsupported altitude.
He, However warned that he wont hesitate to apply the full weight of the law if any attempts to disturb the peace and order of the relative peaceful community.
Former comm.ll, Hon. Adebay Busayo, Hon. Idowu Oluloro, Iya oloja BB balogun and Anthony joint cdas chairman Mr. Lekan Odujirin also aligned with the DPO counsel enjoining them to give peace a chance and let their actions be guided by the union laws.
After the discussions both parties, zonal and state reps signed an undertaken that the status quo will be maintained and sustained till june 2020.
