Following the hardship the residents of agboyi ketu, ikosi isheri lcdas and kosofe local government has being facing as result of the fuel scarcity Kp contacted the constituent of the affected areas to get their reactions over the Pms scarcity.
Some posited that the government shouldn’t be blamed that general solutions should be proffer while others felt the government under president buhari as petroleum minister coupled with his experience with petroleum related matters over the decades is to be blamed.
Voice of the People
The fuel scarcity at this period of the year is plainly shameful and shows that more than two years in the saddle the President Buhari led administration has not been able to identify the problem in that sector. I also do not think we should make this a who to blame issue rather how do we solve the institutional quagmire that allows a few to hold the rest by the jugular. We need to fix our production issues and strive for a true federal system where the issues of gas production and monitoring falls under the purview of the state. In truth, we are doing ourselves a disservice by wanting to regulate PMS price across the Federation when we do not have government owned refinery in all the states. I read that in the USA prices of PMS is different across states and not regulated by federal government but the state government. Sensibly, we should not expect somebody that moved PMS up north from let’s say Lagos to sell at the same price as another that moves from Lagos to Ogun State, yet in the light of our suffering we are apportioning blanket blames. We need to return to the foundation of our problems.
Fuel crisis is not good for anybody because it leads to suffering .whom to blame? Who are the operators of the industry? thank you
Fuel scarcity at this period is not the best for our country but when u have clueless people at the helm of affairs this is what you get, if they can still be blaming PDP for their incompetence it speak volume.
Now they are blaming marketers , how man of them has been arrested and law enforcement agents keep on arresting guys that sells black market, yes its good but why can’t they got the marketer that sell to those guys, Am using this medium to appeal to command in chief who also double as Minister of petroleum to please find solution to the situation.
We had thought by now president Muhammad Buhari would have put effostic or adhesive substances in the opposition mouths over petroleum matters. So that, they won’t be able to speak on this subject matter again. But, Whenever they point their middle accusing finger to the past administration, the rest four fingers are always pointed at them.
Sadly, by increasing the pump price, No #45/litres and refineries as promised and failure to end fuel scarcity called to question his integrity and the president Muhammad buhari purported experience in petroleum resources matters.
Since 1999 government to date , our elected presidents witnessed this traditional phenomenon. Its high time aside the ongoing Dangote refinery, other alternative means should be look ahead or look into since the world in the next 3years , will be moving away from Pms to Electric, Solar and water powered vehicles. What are we waiting for?
Hon. Nuru oluwo
The administration of Muhammad Buhari period.
Being Apc chieftain from ikosi isheri, kosofe fed. Const. kosofepost seek Mr(Hon) Oluwo permission whether to put his name or leave it as anonymous.
“Why hiding my name. Let’s call a spade, A SPADE. I am equally suffering the scarcity. The buck end on Mr. President table in as much he is the petroleum minister,” Hon. Nuru declared.
Kosofe pdp youth leader
To me in all sincerity and honesty to humanity, this whole issue of scarcity is far beyond a govt. failing.
The fact is that in our country, we have always politicalize every issues. Issues that we ought to all address and find a lasting solution.
If you will recall all the statements of PMB, lai Mohammed and so many APC chieftains during the 2015 scarcity and now the current state of fuel scarcity, you will agree with me that the APC has failed.
My point now is, as citizens both PDP and APC, at such times like this we should always come together and address the problem. We need not to put the blame on the table of the govt politically.
Now, why can’t the PMB govt solve it.
My plea to my great PDP party is for us to hit the nail on the head and corporate with the govt of the day to find a lasting solution to this ritual scarcity every December.
The president receives the blame by his insensitivity to address the nation of this issues. It shows he his not human at all. We got it wrong as a nation for voting a man that is insensitive to the resident feelings.
In the words of Aisha Yesufu, the Co-convener of BBOG
“*Aisha blast Buhari over fuel scarcity, failed economy*
Aisha Yesufu Co-convener of Bring Back Our Girls Group has blasted President Muhammadu Buhari over his ill performance as a president.
Aisha who made reference to Buhari’s tweet in 2015 blaming former President Goodluck Jonathan for fuel crisis called him a hypocrite
“Dear President Muhammadu Buhari @MBuhari your tweet below says it all about your hypocritical stand.
“Your tears, words, tweets were never about Nigeria but about your need to come & enjoy the perks of power.
“You have failed as the Minister of Petroleum & more so as the President. She tweeted
The BBOG co-convener said the president has failed as a minister of petroleum for turning deaf ear to the lingering fuel crisis situation officially.
According to her, President Buhari is swayed by power therefore ‘lacking in wisdom, integrity and values despite his age.’
“What type of President are you? You have not had the decency to address the Nation on the crippling effect of the fuel scarcity that many are suffering. You may have Kano people in your pocket you sure dont have the rest of us there.
“At your age one would have expected you have seen it all and not be swayed by the temporary insanity of power but alas age does not mean wisdom, integrity, values and character.
“So what has happened now that is different from 2nd March 2015 when you made that tweet during fuel scarcity? That you became President? What a shame! Power that is transient? Somebody was there before you and somebody would be there after you. What’s the big deal
“People are suffering and all that concerns you is the fawning you get and revel in the access to Presidential jets and pictures of you in overcoat with your incompetent sycophants toeing the line
“I don’t blame you i blame the timid, docile and irresponsible citizens of Nigeria that would fight themselves on the queues at the filling station instead of coming to Aso villa to fight you. Shamefully I am one of the citizenry. Be warned one day we would no longer take it!
“Your impunity and arrogance of treating the people of Nigeria with disdain would definitely come back and haunt you when you see yourself alone without the sycophants
“Lee Kuan Yew is your mate. Nelson Mandela is your mate. They spent their years as leaders thinking about the next generation and building legacy. You are spending your time thinking about the next election while enjoying bagpipes and ceremonial welcome. What a waste!
“Nigerians cried over killings and molestation by @PoliceNG you turned deaf ears. Fuel scarcity you equally have turned deaf ears. We are counting! We would remember! Its a debt we would not forget. Our day to turn deaf ears too would come God willing!
“Mr President the first thing you should do about this fuel scarcity is to fire yourself as Minister of Petroleum and get a competent hand to be one, that’s if you would recognise competence even if it hits you in the face! she added.”
PMB is a shame to humanity and lack integrity totally.
Nigerians have being deceived by this man and come 2019, my party will show him the way out IJN, “Opomulero started.
FUEL: Hold your government accountable always. but dont come and make it look like pdp was a better option. Obansanjo, yardua, Goodluck failed.
Its those presidential aspirants interested in president Muhammad Buhari seat because of his impressive performance and the marketers that conspired together in order to sabotage his administration by creating artificial scarcity. I Will advise them to test their popularity through the ballot box come 2019 rather than this cheap means.
This scarcity is due to the rise in price of crude, consequently the landing cost of petrol is above #145. The major marketers can’t import without subsidy, the only solution is the total deregulation of petrol price.
Any other way is a make believe that ‘ll wont last. once we deregulate the movement of the price will not be steep but gradual that people may even not notice the movement. Moreover it will be up and down, not always up. Consequently, The scarcity is due to the rise in price of crude, consequently the landing cost of petrol is above #145.
The revolution is the local rice production is another pointer to what the down stream oil sector can become with proper deregulation.
