Kosofe Post: Away from omooniles matters, your education back ground Shows that you are more than lettered and Schooled unlike the misconception that awori Indigenes only cherished landed Properties, women and kingship matters. How come you are able to manage tradition and religious Institute, social And political aspect Of Life?
Aremo-Oba Abeeb: Lolzzzzzzzz. Well It was a misconception and erroneous believe that aworis aren’t educated or lettered. Mind you, aworis have produced lots of professionals in various fields Of Human endeavours. We had produced notable Politicians Too: During Alhaji Lateef Kayode Jakande Administration : 1). Chief Raufu Bakare Adeyefa Jafojo (From-Ikeja-Awori-Stock) Was His Deputy-Governor. 2). During Asiwaju-Of-Yorubaland / Jagaban Bola Ahmed Tinubu I and a lot of other Awori Sons & Daughters Such As: Princess Adejoke Orelope Adefulire Was In Ministry Of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation (She Later became a deputy governor during the 2nd Term Of Immediate Past governor Babatunde Raji Fashola’s Adminiration. 3). Chief (Mrs) Remi Adikwu Bakare was in the ministry Of local government and chieftaincy affairs. I was also Appointed By Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to work In his cabinet as a commissioner in the Lagos State Local Government Service Commission Representing Ikeja Division Of Lagos State. And Presently Dr. (Mrs) Idiat Oluranti Adebule is the Deputy-Governor Of Lagos-State (She’s My Maternal Relation From Iba/Ojo Corridor Of West Senatorial District(Badagry-Division) Of Lagos-State. To Mention Just A few.
For properties and kingship matters are of genealogical inheritance which cannot be taken from all Yoruba people as acts Of Customs, culture And traditions. While Marital-Relationships are matters Of personal Choices and It cuts across all Strata Of Life. Womanisation / Fornication Doesn’t Bug Can Catch anybody. It doesn’t Know tribe or elites. it is a matter of choice and Taste. It all cuts across religious Lineage Too. Traditionally muslims marry so many wives. And equally we have seen christians Marrying more than a wife. So it doesn’t matter Whether you’re Aworis, Egbas, Ijebus, Ekiti, Ibo Or Hausas. How I manage to cope with my marital, religious, social and political aspects of my life have been a benevolence from Almighty-Allah The Omnipotent, Omniscient Beneficent, The Merciful And The Alpha And Omega. I think he has been my guiding light. And through him I know that I cannot go astray.
KosofePost: At The Moment What’s Your Relationship With Jagaban Of Borgu Kingdom?
Aremo-Oba Abeeb: Whaooooo is still cordial. And just like I told you earlier Asiwaju Of Yorubaland / Jagaban Bola Ahmed Tinubu is my mentor and benefactor. He appointed me as a commissioner In Sept 2000 to October 2005 to work in his cabinet. and it was through his magnanimity and benevolence that I was able to inject 500-Awori-Graduates into the Lagos-State civil service. So I Will always hold Asiwaju in high esteem. And as I speak to you i am a chieftain of all progressives congress in Lagos-State From Oshodi / Isolo Lga. I want to confess that asiwaju of Yorubaland / Jagaban Of Borgu Bola Ahmed Tinubu has made a lot of positive impacts in my life and Lots of Lagos-State Indigenes particularly aworis of Lagos-State. May Almighty Allah protect his life for us . Sothat, He can continue to positively touch our lives In Lagos -State Cum Nigeria. In a nutshell , Asiwaju Of Yorubaland / Jagaban Of Borgu Bola Ahmed Tinubu Is the “Messiah Of our time & generation. May he live long In good health and abundant, blessings and prosperity in the mighty name of Almighty Allah, Ameenah.
Kosofe Post: So, What’s your take on the awori indigenes of Kosofe generally recent protest to ashiwaju Bola Tinubu on marginalisation of their people on elective and political appointments and social amenities?
Aremo-Oba Abeeb: I’m fully in their support. Because aworis been the major indigeneous dominant tribe apart from Ijebus, Egbas and Eguns should also be given special consideration during elective and appointive nominations. However, aworis too must be actively involved in political activities within their localities. Because i know that our people aren’t active politically In Lagos-State. Apart from aworis In Ajeromi/Ifelodun/Ojo / Badagry local government areas, Who are very agile and active politically. Some of us in Ikeja/Kosofe/Oshodi-Isolo/Mushin/ are too passive politically. Nobody will give you any political position on a platter of gold if you’re not active politically when all the activities were going on. Yorubas Say That: “Aki-Pin-Ogun-Ile-De-Omo-Oko”! You just have to belong politically in other to be relevant and considered for positions in any society or government establishments. Even in family matters too. You must get involved to be considered for positions be it natural, tribal Or political. This is pregnant with meaning. Because he who claims equity must do so with active participation and clean hands. Hope I make myself clear on this issue?
On Social Amenities: I want to implore Lagos-State Governor His Excellency Akinwunmi Ambode to provide Kosofe Local Government area with lots of infrastructural facilities in view of Lagos-State schemes win our locality. We have Millenium, Gbagada/Pedrl Phase-1-&-2-Schemes a host of Private estates like Adoyi Alashe Estate. Late Ajao/E.O.Ashamu Estates and a lot of industries within Anthony Village, Oke-Alo, Medina Estate and Atunrashe Estates. The government need to open up the roads, construct modern schools for the teeming population and build more Police.
Kosofe Post: Well Said Kabiyesi!there’s this popular saying in the public parlance That”Oba No Dey Go Transfer” Going by your political experience, exposure coupled with the President Muhammed#Godwin Victory. How would you manage your traditional constituency with political appointment should you be considered in the yet to be constituted Lasg and federal government cabinets?
Aremo-Oba Abeeb: Let’s keep our fingers crossed and be hoping for betterment. Like i told you earlier That; God almighty always direct my steps in life. So we will surely cross the hurdle when we get there
Kosofe Post: Wits And Wisdom!
Aremo-Oba Abeeb: But mind you, traditional and political roles are Interwoven. It is “Service to the People”. And it isn’t crime to combine both since its all in the service of humanity and mankind.
Kosofe Post: Recently the abobaku who is traditionally meant to die with his royal highness Ooni of Ife, Who just pass on, reported dialogued with his 2legs. As the world has advanced today don’t you think we should embraced Abobajaiye rather than abobaku because life is good?
Aremo-Oba Abeeb: Yes. “Abobajaiye” Position Is Better Than “Abobaku”. And Again We Should Delete and discard archaic traditions/customs/culture that “Kills human beings”. For no just cause. I think the ideal “Abobaku” has outlived its usefulness in all ramifications if it has any usefulness at all. Instead of using human beings for rituals. Malu (Cows), Goats, Chickens, Hippopotamus, Giraffe’s and other animals can be slaughtered to appease “God”. Because according to the holy books: Anybody who kills by the sword will also die by the sword”. A word is enough for the wise persons.
Kosofe Post: well said our awaiting classical king,Kabiyesi O!And finally what are the questions you think we should have asked you and Kosofepost.Com didn’t ask You, your highness?
Aremo-Oba Abeeb: You have done well with your probing questions. except that you didnt ask me of my Oloori and Kids. So, I will quickly answer you that I am happily married to Alhaja (Oloori & Ayinba) Monsuratu Adenike Faronbi (Mama-Okiki) and Alhaja (Oloori & Ayinba) Yeye-Aremo-Billyqueen Ayomiku-Alomoko-Moradewun-Ewatomi-Faronbi and the unions are blessed with promising-Children.
