Following the winding down of business transactions towards late December 2017. Many public and private sector staffs took part and full annual leave that run up to the first week of January 2018.
It enables them to embark on annual travelling to their villages, town and states, and overseas to meet their relatives and celebrates with them during the seasons.
Through out last week the roads of kosofe Local government , Agboyi Ketu and ikosi isheri lcda respectively, indeed Lagos state, was empty and there was free movement of vehicles that one could easily predicts the expected time of arrival(ETAs) of any vehicle within the councils environs.
However, Today (Yesterday) the roads are currently maintaining and sustaining the status as they were before the crossover break.
Aside, the over population in kosofe Federal constituency and Lagos state at large. The ignorant and lack of obedient to the traffic rules by the road users coupled with the numerous road rehabilitation and construction works ongoing across the cities simultaneously all contributed to the daily heavy traffic.
No doubts about the fact that the social infrastructure in the state capacity is not longer sufficient for the dwellers anymore. And politics over the years prevented the state from getting the special status from the federal government.
Even when the state aligned with the federal government by forming the central government led by president Muhammed Buhari and control the national assembly hasn’t helped the state to be granted the long overdue special status nor enlisted 37 local council development areas into the constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria as opposed by the then pdp government led by former president Olusegun Obasanjo administration.
Kosofepost, strongly believes that this year that Gov. Akinwunmi Ambode will deploy effective traffic management system geared towards reducing travel hours within the city and the road users will apply their common sense while plying the roads most especially the danfo drivers.
