IKOSI-ISHERI LCDA NEWS-
OYESANYA SEEKS ASSISTANCE OF LAGOS STATE GOVERNMENT ON COMPLETION OF OFFICE COMPLEX AT THE COUNCIL SECRETARIAT, AS COMMISSIONER FOR LOCAL GOVT AND COMMUNITY AFFAIRS VISITS COUNCIL TO INSPECT FACILITY .
The Executive Chairman of Ikosi-Isheri Local Council Development Area, Engr Abdul Fatai Ayodele Oyesanya has requested for assistance of the Lagos State Government on the early completion of the three stories office complex under construction at the council secretariat.
Engr Oyesanya made the request on Friday at the council secretariat when the Commissioner for Local Government and Community Affairs, Muslim Folami visited the council on an inspection tour of the office complex.
The Council Chairman informed the Commissioner that the request for assistance of the state government has become imperative in view of the conspicuous lack of office accommodation for staff and political office holders at the council secretariat. He added that this development if not quickly attended to, will bring about low productivity among workers, as many of them do not have offices to work, while four or five management staffs are assembled in one room office to discharge their official duties.
Engr Oyesanya also informed the commissioner that the dwindly council’s monthly share of the federal allocation and it’s internally generated revenue put together cannot be used to complete the gigantic office complex. This ugly development, Engr Oyesanya said, informed the need to seek the assistance of the Lagos State Government in the area of finance.
The Executive Chairman added that the council will welcome the idea of repaying whatever fund released to it by the state government, for the completion of the building, from its share of the monthly allocation.
In his response, shortly before inspection of the office complex, Alhaji Folami commended Engr Oyesanya for his foresight on the construction of the office complex, noting that if completed, the edifice will solve permanently the problem of good office accommodation in the council.
He assured the Executive Chairman and Other political office holders and Management Staff present during his visit that, with availability of comprehensive details about the office complex, the Governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode will surely approve the release of fund for the quick completion of the office complex.
The Commissioner was accompanied on the inspection visit by the Director of Administration in the Ministry of Local Government and Community Affairs, Grillo Olatunde.
