In the build up to the July 4, Empowerment programme organized by the Member, House of Reps, Representing, Kosofe Federal Constituency, Hon. Rotimi Agunsoye, many shortlisted beneficiaries had undergone one form of training or the other to be qualified for the empowerment tools.
Some of the graduands awaiting their certificates and working tools, when the event then had reached advanced stage were disappointed , when the societal product diplomatically known as good boys invaded the venue and move all moveable items.
Their actions made many of the beneficiaries to flee for their precious lives due to relaxed security arrangement.
The good boys was reported given 1m by a party chieftain and ROT, also reported gave them cool cash of 1m, in the morning of that fateful day before the invasion as gathered.
Immediately after the ugly incident ROT reported met with the party stakeholders apologized and assured them , he will make alternative provision for those affected by the development.
Thereafter, ROT continued with solo empowerment.
When KOSOFEPOST, Contacted the Chair of all Chairmen, APC Lagos East Senatorial District, APC Ikosi Isheri LGA Chairman, Personal Assistant to the Lawmaker, Hon. Loogun Jegede Sunday, over those items was stolen, he asked the affected beneficiaries to come to the constituency office or contact him.
Many reported called and visited the office, but said they are yet to get any feedback.
Some of the affected beneficiaries such as Cinematographer, computer, graphics/ printing, catering and hairstylist chatted with shed bucket of tears while narrating their experiences to the KOSOFEPOST, over the good boys criminal act.
Many of the deprived graduands had expected to collect their tools to start working, make money and pay their bills.
Constituency office response
Mr. Loogun Jegede Sunday , who was apparently busy responded 18hours, after our enquiry text was sent to him to know the faith of the remaining outstanding beneficiaries.
Good morning, we have to appeal to the beneficiaries to exercise a little patience since the depravation was not deliberate. But we need to ascertain those who were genuinely deprived because those who left with their items hours before the disruption are coming back too. Some items too has been sent to LGA/LCDA leaders who nominated the beneficiaries. Thank you for the good job”, Loogun stated.
