As the campaigns for the 2019 general elections gather momentum, the lawmaker representing Kosofe Constituency 2, Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Tunde Braimoh along with the women’s directorate of the Bayo Osinowo Campaign Organization led by Mrs Kafilat Ogbara have called on the electorate to vote massively for candidates of the All Progressives Congress(APC).
The duo made the disclosure during a meeting with members of Motortechs and Technicians Association of Nigeria, Agboyi-Ketu Chapter.
Opening interaction at the program, the chairman of the association, Mr Rasheed Onabote thanked the delegation for honoring them despite the short notice.
He posited that the invitation was extended to deliberate on how the association will build a time to time relationship with the party,which is not limited to election period.
On several challenges faced by the association , the chairman adumbrated that the non-availability of land, and needless harrassment by security agencies are major problems mitigating against business growth.
“In a third world country like ours, where the norms of a functional democracy are yet to be imbibed, we observe that election period brings about meetings which timeline last for the campaign season”
“But to change this tradition, we invited you today to intimate you that our association is ready to work with your party from time to time, this harmonious relationship we are convinced will catapult our association to greater heights”
Speaking at the program, Hon. Tunde Braimoh commended the association for taking a noble path to demand for progress, stressing that they have proven their courage in leadership.
In response to their demands, he attributed the non-availability of land to the congestion in the state, he said the only panacea is for all hands to be deck to find a solution, this i implore you to look for available spaces, from which steps will be taken.
On the issue of needless harassment by security agencies, the lawmaker who is seeking a second term in office asked the association to forward a petition to that effect.
He,however,warned members to remain law-abiding, and report any security official harrassing them to him.
On his part, the director of Women’s Directorate, Bayo Osinowo Campaign Organization, Mrs Kafilat Ogbara, who greeted the gathering on behalf of the party’s Lagos East Senatorial Candidate,Hon. Bayo Osinowo pleaded with members of the association to take the message home, and canvass family and friends for the party.
“Campaigning is all about winning souls to vote for a party, in respect to this, meeting your association today has further opened another avenue to win more converts for the party as the message heard will definitely be shared with your family and friends”
Enthusing further, the director told the gathering to use their first finger known as ‘Index Finger” to fingerprint beside the party’s logo, as indicated by a broom.
“In view of the vast number of political parties participating in
this year’s election, there is a likelihood that the ballot paper will be shrunk to accommodate all”
“However, in this election, our party, the All Progressives Congress is determined to record an unprecedented victory, as there is no room for void votes, this can only be achieved when votes allotted to the party,(APC) are well fingerprinted, however, we implore you to make use of your first finger instead of your thumb” She said
