The consistent, Insistent and persistent Public affairs commentator, Babatunde Jakande’s apparent referring to those who forgot that” Health is wealth “ as it’s often said , says :
“A television hostess during a musical programme asked Peter Okoye of P Square how rich he was. Peter told the studio audience to do what he was about to. He jumped up and down several times, raised both hands in the air and moved his body around”.
He said ” i would easily and willingly forfeit all my wealth just to be able to do what we just did now’.
“Sometimes ago, my mum needed to undergo a sudden medical procedure and there was no time to fly her out to her usual doctor abroad so we made arrangement to have it done at a military facility here in Lagos”.
“At the hospital, we requested a private room but was told they were occupied. In the process of figuring out what to do, i strayed into a ward in another section of the hospital only to be quickly turned back by some nurses and chastised for storming in without permission. It was much later i was told the ward was strictly for terminally ill patients”.
“We take our good health for granted. We complain so much about how life has been so unfair or compare ourselves to others we feel are economically well off. Why don’t we compare ourselves to those waiting to die or bed ridden”.
Even Dangote will happily give up a large chunk of his wealth if not all to prevent terminal sickness. If you have good health you are the richest person in the world. complain less and be thankful more
