In these days where stories of kidnapping and armed robbery are all over the place, one cannot be too careful.
I attended a social function yesterday and got carried away I did not realise how late it was. I got a friend to drop me off where I could easily get a bike since I didn’t go with my car.
From nowhere, a heavily set man on a bike stopped and asked where I was going. A couple of moments later, I got off the bike and made my way towards the gate of my house but instinctively looked back. I saw the bike man approaching so I walked past my gate and changed direction. He still followed me. It was shortly before midnight and the area was deserted. I walked faster yet I could sense his presence behind me.
I decided to run but he increased his pace too. It was apparently I was about to be a victim of a criminal activity. I made up my mind not to go down without a fight. Thoughts of my beautiful wife and kids flashed back and I knew I was not ready to leave them. One of us will have to go down. I stopped, turned around and braced myself as my heat beat increased to a million and one a second. What do you want ? why are you following me I asked?
In a shockingly tender voice he said
‘oga please give me my helmet na’
