It took the murder in cold blood of the daughter of one prominent Yoruba leader to capture the attention of the powers that be to the anguish hundreds of ordinary families faces daily on the road due to insecurity in the country. By this sad and unfortunate incident, those in power are now jolted to the realisation that it could actually happen to them or members of their families.
So sad but welcome to reality. Maybe it will now dawn on us all that the killings and general insecurity are neither exaggerated nor political as the Vice President Professor Yemi Osibajo was quoted to have claimed during a recent trip to America.
The Federal Government has repeatedly failed in protecting the lives and property of the citizens of this great Nation.
Government officials and their influencers thronging the home of the bereaved should know that no expression of sympathy or visit to the family will bring back the dead or erase the violent nature that led to her death.
At this point, most people and am sure the family too, care less about the relationship anyone had with the deceased. That certainly will neither bring her back nor stop the continuous killings, kidnapping and criminality in the Country. All we want, sorry what we deserve is to go about our business without the fear of being a victim of criminality.
