ALIU ALARAPE, a teacher in an interview granted to Kosofe Post, gave Mayor Dele led administration 3 star rating, asked concerned citizens to support education sustainable development in Kosofe (Agboyi Ketu/ Ikosi Isheri).
KP: 2 Years of Mayor Dele Oshinowo’s led administration. What’s your assessment?
Sincerely, we have to give kudos to Mayor he as helped in simplifying governance, before now majority don’t have access to what is going in the council but now, we are now progressing with the right feedback.
Base on my knowledge on the status of Local government in Lagos governance, I would give the chairman C, as there are still a lots of work, especially in capital projects like more School, health centre, sport centre and the likes.
KP: Whats your assessment of Agboyi Ketu lcda Legislative Arms?
I am factual person my brother, I don’t expect more than what they are currently doing. It’s not everyone that will be like Saraki!, and don’t forget we are in Lagos.
No lawmaker would wants to do one term and go home, so while in the house (Either Federal, State or Local), will ensure party supremacy and not the electorate will.
KP: As you earlier said alot more still need to be done in the area of education , primary health care and roads. Most of these areas are begging for urgent attention but poor allocation can not guarantee quick fix. Don’t you think its high time our local councils stop relying on FG allocation, IGR, and the state 20% by investing in agribusiness?.
Yes, I love this. The press like yours is an avenue and a good place to educate the council and her principal officers on need to diversify and ensure economic progress and Independent.
KP: What’s your take on autonomy for the local government by President Muhammad Buhari’s administration?
It’s a welcome idea, as it will help the public access the chairman performance accurately, and it will enhance development in various communities.
KP: On education what would you like government, private citizens and organizations to do in the 42 primary schools in Kosofe Federal constituency?
In education the government needs to create more schools and employ more teachers, both primary and secondary. The schools are over populated with no adequate number teachers . Ajegunle axis of Kosofe is lacking secondary education.
The private citizens needs to wake up from slumber and demands for their right at appropriate time, and also secured all government facilities in their neighborhood.
The corporate organisation needs to direct their social responsibility towards education through provision of scholarship and some other incentives to public school pupils.
KP: Some said Mayor Dele Oshinowo’s first term performance is the most outstanding while other think otherwise. If Mayor declare for second term would support him?
I will strongly support him Kosofe Post and there are many reasons for that.
One he is a listening leader ,Two; he is respecter of both rich and poor allies. Three; he embark on some projects which are very commendable, The ongoing Ajologo housing estate will be addition to the IGR of the council, also the on-going shopping complex. Four; with his leadership style he is been able to put control to thuggery, which has made our security a bit stable.
I am strongly with Dele for 2nd term even though in Nigeria second as always been an avenue for political office holders to prepare for the fear of unknown.
