There is a great difference between being a good Governor and a great Governor. By now i thought the exit plan of NUTRW would have gained momentum. The reverse seem to be at play. They are bolder, more confrontational and have become a semi authority which can not be challenged by the police. These guys make as much as twenty seven million daily. My question is where does the money go?
I’ am yet to see one bridge or road constructed by the NUTRW. No hospital or public school. I have visited some of their officers and sometimes mistaken the place for breweries, No thanks to the hundreds of sachet spirits and empty beer bottles. I have also seen all kinds and shade of ladies hanging around. I am not being frivolous. Whose interest do these guys serve and what exactly are their contributions to the concept, and I repeat concept of the center for excellence.
I have lived and traveled to so many countries. Places our leaders go to. I am yet to see idiots, thugs and criminals with so much boldness terrorising a society. To be a great Governor means the occupier must rise above political consideration but can our Governor do that? Can he be that Governor?
Public transportation in a state with over twenty million people who are always on the move should be a major income spinner for the state.
I laughed when the state buys and puts out brand new buses fully air conditioned. What about the death traps called commercial buses driven by deranged individual?
If I was appointed commissioner of transportation the first month in office, I will set standards. Only individuals who can afford to buy and put brand new buses on the road, ply will pir roads. As it is, there are no standards either for commercial vehicles or drivers. Have you seen when bus drivers engages LASTMA officials in physical confrontational? Is this how we should stroll into the 21st center when China and others are operating transportation faster than planes?
I think this Governor has been in the system for such a long time, Lagosians should be seeing more signs of his three months stay at Alausa. Like i said i will be his number fan and foremost critics.
