The last few weeks it has been back to back completed projects commissioning attracting who is who in kosofe politics, opinion , community, traditional leaders and other stakeholders to Agboyi Ketu local council area, Kosofe, Lagos.
one of the recent commissioned project was the phase 1 of the transformers procured and donated by the council chairman, Mayor Dele oshinowo to some communities in the council area, when a supposedly private owned IKEDC failed to do so and subject some community in Agboyi Ketu to an extreme hardship through power supply rotation or total blackout.
The somolu Business Units head of the Ikeja Electricity Distribution company, Mr. Yusuf Olanrewaju, while responding to the press men on the process requires in getting the transformers installed said” One of the thing we need to do is environment impact assessments in the locations the transformers will be deplored by our teams”.
“We will set up the process to integrate the transformers into our network”.
“We have to do the planning step by step, provide the high Voltage (HV) network and extend it there. Whole lot of survey and technical work it will be done very quickly,” Yusuf assured.
Also, responding further on the notion that after the “police force” the other operatives feared the most by Nigerians is NEPA (IKEDC). And the guarantee that the transformers will be installed without taken from the community pocket.
He noted that ” the contribution of Mayor Dele is understandable. ideally the community does not build networks. Its our responsibility to build network with the distribution”.
“Yes, If the distribution company were able to build sufficient networks at the same time as we wanted that’s a different ball game. But we recognize it’s our duty and responsibility. adding that ” where we had a hand of supports like what we witnessing here today. For us, our desire is to extend energy to every part of the community”.
“Because its a business, i take energy from the transmission company, i give it to the community and earn my money from it. That’s my business and that’s what am call to do,” The somolu Business Units head of IKEDC, Mr. Yusuf Olanrewaju declared.
