In fulfilment of the promise made by the leadership of Ikosi Isheri local Council Development Area, legislative Arm, Hon. Akanni Usman Ajibola, on Kosofe Post about 41 days ago that the chamber will invite the residents to a public hearing of her proposed byelaws has now been scheduled to hold on october 31, 2019 at the council headquarters by 11:00AM according the invite sighted by this community newspaper.
This is a paradigm shift from the decades tradition of not carrying the public along in the process of drafting by laws that affect socio economic activities of the grassroot dwellers. Both Agboyi ketu and Ikosi Isheri local councils have now set the pace on how legislative activities should be conducted by extending invitation to critical community stakeholders.
The proposed byelaws when finally passed by the lawmakers after feedback from the public and assented by the Executive Chairman of the Ikosi Isheri Lcda, Hon. Abdulfatai Ayodele Oyesanya’s, will have an effect on the aforementioned stakeholders and it will ultimately increase the internally generated revenue of the local council that will enable the council to execute and implement lives impacting projects in the community for the benefit of the residents.
