An officer attends a political rally instead of resuming work. His boss cannot sanction because of fear of repercussion. In the above instances and others similar, political connections prevailed over civil service code.
So, how can politics be curbed to enhance professionalism in public administration. Can anything be done about this? What can or should an affected officer do when he is being victimised, sidelined or relegated because of political connections?
