Kosofe as a whole experienced the 2019 torrential rainfall coupled with the opening Oyom dam water release that claims several lives and properties, in Kosofe and across the state.
Several residents of the affected areas in Kosofe became internal displaced persons (IDPs) during the months the flood lasted.
Throwing of dirt in the canal and building on drainage system area also contributed in no amount to to the devastating flood that affected some residents of Kosofe ( Agboyi ketu, Ikosi Isheri lcdas) local government.
Following the save our lives visit the trio of Kosofe LG, Ikosi Isheri lcda, and Agboyi Ketu paid to Lagos East lawmaker at the upper chamber of the National Assembly, Sen. Adebayo Osinowo, attracted Federal Government delegation to the annually affected communities. No concrete solution since the last visit of former President Goodluck Jonathan in October 2010 during the administration of Gov. Babatunde Fashola.
In keeping to the promise of Lasg and placing more premium on lives and properties the Lagos State Government last weekend’s mobilised personel and equipment to dredge canals across Kosofe.
Also, some of the failed section of the road across Kosofe reportedly belonging to the state government has been rehabilitated while others are ongoing at the moment.
