One of the reasons many advanced for the preference of this President during the 2015 elections was his perceived ability to stem the corruption tide.
As a matter of fact, some said this President’s sparkling clean corrupt free antecidents makes him the only living Nigerian that can completely kill corruption in the country.
Not much seem to have changed four and a half years later. The transparency international in its recent release of most corrupt countries in the world rated Nigeria the second most corrupt country in west Africa. This means the situation is going from bad to worse according to the organisation.
Though the federal government disputed the claim, the verdict of transparency international on previous administration was embraced and used by this same government while in opposition urging Nigerians to vote them in for change.
