The enforcement of the Lagos State Government on tricycles and commercial motorcycles ban has been receiving full compliance, protests, violence, extortion and overzealousness on the part of the law enforcement agencies according to Kosofe Post findings.
Yesterday, The task force reportedly stormed Okada park at Faramobi Ajike street, opposite the office of the former, Kosofe Local government, Sole Administrator, Mrs. Jumoke Animawun and impounded about 7 motorcycles. One of the affected victims was one of the outspoken APC Youth, Secretary of the unit ( Anthony under bridge Okada), Branch C Kosofe, Mathew Daniel.
However, after the intervention of the Anthony Village councilor, Hon. Idowu Oluloro coupled with some handshakes reportedly led to the release of the bikes, impounded on the unrestricted routes in Kosofe with the assurance that they will escort them back to their destination safely.
After the successful handshakes the taskforce allegedly reneged on their promise of escorting them back to Anthony. They were left to soft themselves at the tension soaked environment along Oshodi, Oworonshoki-Apapa expressway axis. On their way coming, driving under palpable fear, and desperation to prevent rearrest Daniel was suddenly hit by hit and run car.
He was rushed to the Gbagada General Hospital, Kosofe where he vomited blood all through yesterday. However, according to the latest dévelopment the southern kaduna born rider and APC campaigns interpreter to haussa Communities has been responding to treatment and no longer vomitting blood as at today.
The overzealousness of the taskforce and other law enforcement agencies neccessiated a press statement from the Commisioner of Police, CP Hakeem Dosumu reiterating on the exempted bikes and the need for the enforcement officers to work in accordance with the state government policy guidelines on the ban.
