A concerned Nigerian and top-line Journalist, Dare John Akinniyi has raised an alarm over the spate of insecurity, cult-killings and robberies which has rocked Gbagada and its environs in Lagos.
Akinniyi took to his social media account @glintstonemag on Twitter to bemoan the spate of killing and insecurity.
In his words, “Cult activities and reprisal attacks on rival gangs and unsuspecting residents in Gbagada are becoming a social problem. Just last night popular Lout ‘Malawi’ was murdered at ‘Iyana-Oworo’ Bridge by cultists from Oworonshoki. These known boys in the hood kill at will. They move around from 9 am to 4 pm on bikes to attack or forcefully ask for money from passersby. As I write Sawmill area in Ifako-Gbagada is observing unofficial curfew for the fear a reprisal tonight.
He further went on to lament the inability of the police to curtail the activities of the cultists.
The three police stations Ifako, Gbagada P2 & Alonge stations within the radius are helpless. A quick investigation shows that any arrest made will only last for a few hours or a day at most because they seem to be untouchables” he added with a hashtag
