While the residents of Isheri Oke Olowoira , area of Kosofe woke up in the morning of 17th of February, gangs of ajagun gbale, or land-grabbing soldiers, of Yoruba ethnic origin reportedly entered the community and in attempt to evict the dwellers.
Following the judgement of the suit No ID/1352/2001 between Prince Michael Adesegun Bakare & 2ords Vs Mr. O. Ashafa & 8Ords Judgement purportedly delivered in favour of the claimants by Justice Hon. Candide Johnson of High Court of Lagos State, Ikeja judiciary division on May 3, 2016 declaring the claimants as the rightful owner of the landed properties with several residential buildings on it. Kosofe Post learnt that attempt to paste possession notice triggered the war like scene as the residents unleashed their angers.

The dévelopment between the Ajagungbale, law enforcement agents and residents led to the exchange of gunshots, bottles, stones and other dangerous weapon among the Police team and the affected community according to Kosofe Post.
Several properties were destroyed and many people sustained different degree of injuries in the violent that started around 10Am and lasted for about 5hours.
The majority of the landlord, residents who spoke to this online media said they were not aware of such court matter, they allegedly claimed that the Isheri Olowoira Police station are not aware of the developments.
The unexpected visitors promised to return in midnight prompted the traditional leaders in Isheri Oke Olowoira area of Kosofe to declare overnight traditional rites” Isemo” to Wade off any overnight reenforcement by alleged trespassers.
