Further findings by Kosofe Post at Adekunle Ram Market by Owode Elede along Ikorodu Highway yesterday revealed that the china coy (namewitheld) constructing wharehouse and building behind the market had an agreement with the Ram seller, in front of the facility with the promise of finding a suitable place for them to relocate.
The Chinese coy, however rather than fullfiling the promises allegedly wrote a petition to the Lagos State Ministry of Environment that prompted the action of the Lagos Special offence and environment ( Taskforce) to storm the market and confiscate Ram worth of ₦1Million Wednesday this week.
Speaking to Kosofe Post, the Chairman of Adekunle Ram Market, Mr. Adebayo Oladunjoye presented pictures of how the Market was developed from a waterlogged area to a solid land. Adding that the Chinese coy reneged on their earlier agreement to find a suitable Market place for them to continue their trade.
Adebayo and other traders ahead of the 48 hours quite notice given to them by MoE, were seen demolishing their shades and evacuating their hundreds of Rams.
He further disclosed to this online Newspaper that all the confisticated Ram has since been released to them. He added that the Ministry of Environment equally scheduled meeting for Monday with the Ram sellers and the Chinese company, other stakeholders at Alausa, Ikeja.
As at the time of our visit the Chinese ongoing wharehouse and building construction non of their representatives is available.
The controversial plots of land has drawn the attention of the local authority; Agboyi Ketu Local Council Development Area (LCDA) as the council used warning and caution tapes to barricade the place and erected a Public Notice on it stating that the land has now been earmarked for beautification gardens.
