The Ketu Youth, wing of Balogun Oyero Descendants Asssociation (BODA) has suspends her proposed free eye screening earlier slated for Saturday 21 March 2020.
In a statement signed by the association’s President, Prince Kazeem Balogun which made available to Kosofe Post, the suspension is due to the coronavirus outbreak and after the number of confirmed cases of in the country reached eight, with five tested positive on Wednesday.
He said “the postponment is also to comply with the directives of Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwoolu that urged the public to avoid gatherings in excess of 50 people.”
Prince Kazeem maintained that the association took the decision after wide consultation with professionals and stakeholders. He made this know after a close door meeting with Oba of Ketu, Oba Isiaka Adetutu Adio Oyero Balogun.
In his media briefing after the meeting with Oba of Ketu, Prince Balogun Kazeem assured that as soon as the pandemic subsided a more convenient time will be announced.
Speaking further he enjoined all the residents of Kosofe and the entire resident of Lagos state to take all the basic preventive measures and protect themselves against the new corona virus.
