Following the daily increasing daily new record cases of Corona Virus amid the first 14 days Lockdown of Lagos, Ogun and Abuja by President Muhammad Buhari’s which lapsed on April 14, prompted this online Newspaper to seek public opinion on the speculated stay at home extension to enable the epicenter, Lagos and Federal Government’s curtailed Covid19 pandemic.

Firstly, Lagos State remains the pace setter to every other states in Nigeria. I am so proud of my governor, our governor, his Excellency Mr Babajide Sanwo olu for his promt response in cubing this national epidemic. I will be in support of the extension of the lockdown if that would be the only means to end this covid 19 in Nigeria, we hear and see what is going on in other well developed countries and I just pray we will never get to that heartbreaking level. I know it will be so difficult for many people but the sacrifice is worth it and the government at all levels should please make adequate provisions for the masses during the lockdown for there are enormous fears, tensions and anxiety among the people Especially the elderly people. I think it is high time people in power starts to treat your citizens with care, love and respect. Ensure whatever relief program you have reach the corners of all the state and not selected few. And not for camera’s sake.
Awofeso Rasheed, Child AdvocateConsidering the level of recorded cases of covid19 pandemic, I will urge government to extend the days of lockdown ,just that few days be allowed in form of interjection to allow residents to visit market to buy foodstuffs as done in Ogun state.people compliance in area of social distancing is below expectations.people must be educated about it and this issue must not be treated with levity.Covid19 is real.stay home to be Alive.

covid -19 crisis that caused the lockdown order by the federal government of Nigeria led by president Muhammad Buhari that the rate the coronavirus is spreading was alarming and the growing number of the disease in Lagos and Abuja was increasing and one of the way to curb it’s spread is to stay at home order for two weeks starting from thirty of March to thirteen of April, now the big question is how far have we gone about this killer disease has it come down to it bearest minimum or the situation is getting worse everyday going by the number of the victims from the time of this directive? The answer is there for every lagosians to see the case Was less than eighty but now the case of coronavirus is over one hundred and twenty victims alone so to my own opinion i support the extension of the lock down by the federal government of Nigeria.

The lockdown should not be extended, people are tired of staying in door, there is hunger in the nation already, covid19 relief package is not evenly distributed, lockdown has had effect on the economy. Instead of the extension, social distance should be encouraged.

The extension of the lockdown is most necessary as we are at the most precarious stage of advancement of yet to be known probable index cases.
There will be no justification for the closure of our airports and land borders is the lockdown is relaxed, moreso with the escalating figures of frequently visited countries by Nigerians. In a while we will be free from restriction.
At the moment, obeying government directives is the best option to keep us safe, healthy and alive.
The lockdown should not be extended because there is no means of livelihood.

The lock down should be extended to eradicate the virus totally. It’s not easy but no pain no gain, we can’t experience what is happening in Italy or USA.

Extending it depends on the institutions that is saddled with responsibility to manage and contain the COVID 19, the reason for the extension will be best know to them at our own interest. All we and them should be care for is managing the people’s welfare for the numbers of days of such extension.
Adedeji Ajayi, Agric biz consultant
Yes, FG should extend the lockdown period if it is felt that, there are unidentified asymptomatic carrier that are still in the society.
The lock down is for our own good because it is actually meant to safeguard the lives of people. If there is a need for it to be extended, I will gladly support it in as much as the govt of the day will make adequate provision for the well being of the citizenries by providing stimulus for them. It will indeed be a callous thing to keep them indoors away from sickness for them to be ravaged by hunger.
