The lawmaker representing Lagos East, Sen. Sikiru Adebayo Osinowo set to Redeem his electioneering campaign promise of donating his monthly salaries to Lagos East All Progressives Congress (APC) members for their commitment and contribution to his success story.
The lawmaker made the pledge during a reconciliation meeting around November, 2018 at CMD Magodo, area of Kosofe, Lagos State.
His statement then partly reads “I am not the best, the most educated or intelligent but all is divinely planned. Other candidates have spent money, time and energy before stepping down for me.
“Where you are sending me, I am sure that all your contributions and loyalty will be compensated.
“If by the grace of God I win the election to represent this senatorial district, my salary for four years belong to the party.
Whatever the amount, it is the party money I promise. You’ll determine how it will be shared.
“If you know how the constituents, our supporters and followers struggled and suffered inside sun and rain to make sure I win this election, you will know worthy they are worthy to be given more,’’ Osinowo said
Follow up by this online Newspaper, The Kosofe Post on the pledge revealed that the senator has concluded all arrangements to disburse the money until the covid-19 pandemic disrupted social, economic and Political developments in Nigeria and the global village.
Our source disclosed that the senator faced huge challenges when he got to Abuja due to effects of delayed payment of salaries and non availability of accommodation that lasted several months told contributed to his earlier frequent shuttling between Lagos and Abuja in 2019.

He further said that the earlier scheduled time for the physical presentation of the Cheques to the targeted beneficiaries was April. However, Coronavirus pandemic halted the whole plan.
Immediately the covid-19 subsided cheques worth of 20,000 will be presented to 25 shortlisted beneficiaries per local government. in the first phase, 6 local governments excluding Kosofe will be among the beneficiaries. While Kosofe, others will be benefit from the subsequent phase. He said.
To ensure rancorous free distribution to the beneficiaries for their unwavering supports to the distinguished senator during the last election. He explained that” committee comprising member of House of Assembly, Local government Chairman, APC LGA Chairman and Osinowo coordinator in each local Governments, lcdas alongside the DG will see to the successful implementation.
Charles said the manageable sum was arrived after series of robust deliberations. However, appeal to party members that the money can not go round every members but assured that members indeed the people of Lagos east will benefit from the various empowerment programmes been put in place by the distinguished Senator.
It will be recalled that Sen. Osinowo reportedly donated 30 Million to some targeted beneficiaries across Lagos East during the covid-19 lockdown as palliative.
