ADIEU MY DEAR EGBON
It was with a deep sense of loss that I got the shocking news of the sudden death of a man I held dear to my heart.
Senator Bayo Osinowo, and I have come a long way, dating back to our many years of political struggles. I’ll never forget the many contributions he made to my political career as we climbed the leadership ladder together.
More than being an associate, Pepperito for me was a brother from another mother whose path, fate made to cross and merged with mine for long until his demise. Like the Big Brother that he was, Pepperito was one confidant whose wealth of experience I’ve come to rely so much on.
A seasoned politician whose deep knowledge of the political terrain stood him shoulders above many. A party man who was loyalty personified. He belonged to that top echelon of rare breed politicians with unwavering loyalty.
He kept faith with the progressives’ ship as it navigated Nigeria’s difficult political waters and metamorphosed over the years from the Alliance for Democracy (AD) to the All Progressive Congress (APC).
But like all good things, the fairytale we once shared has come to an end so soon. Sadly, I’ll forever miss an egbon, a soulmate and a fellow comrade. Yet the painful loss of a prominent leader will linger more in the hearts of Greater Kosofe, Lagos East Senatorial District and Lagos at large.
My prayers at this moment goes to the entire Osinowo family. May the Almighty God grant them the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
“Hon. (Prince) Rotimi Agunsoye MHR, Kosofe Federal Constituency.
