- Erring Aspirants to be sanction
Immediately the Lagos State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) last weekend called for application from party members intending to participate in the Lagos East Bye Election some of the aspirants sponsored libellous and defamation content against one another.
In order to nip the dangerous trend in bud the PDP State Secretary, Prince Muiz Dosumu issued press statement this weekend warning aspirants to stop hate speech amongst aspirants, during campaigns.
His statement Read: “The attention of the Party, at the State level has been drawn to the dangerous abysmal conduct of supporters of our aspirants, in the act of seeking votes for their principals.”
He further said” Hate speech amongst aspirants, during campaigns, never breed any endearing aftermath, especially when a candidate eventually emerged.”
“Campaigns must be issues related and not maligning of each other’s character,” he warned.
“All our Aspirants are noble people and are very qualify, to represent the Party at the National Assembly. But unfortunately, there is only one available seat for the exalted position .
“We assure you that the process will be open, free, fair and democratically credible, and God willing, the most acceptable Candidate will emerge .
“PDP is one family, don’t allow hate speech and campaigns of calumny to divide us.
We might be forced to sanction any aspirant, whose supporter refuse to heed this warning.
“Let your campaigns be issues based and not character assassination,” the party scribe admonished the aspirants.
Let’s be more mature in our conduct and approach towards this assured victory.
