Bilesanmi AbayomiFollowing the partial lifting of ban on religious activities and programmes by Gov. Babajide Sanwoolu, various religious organizations commenced services across Kosofe over this weekend.
Recall, covid-19 pandemic lockdown of the world indeed Nigeria necessitated governments NCDC different protocols enforcement on religious activities for over 4 months to curtail the spread of the deadly disease.
However, the reopening of worship centres on August 7, for mosques, and churches on Sunday, August 9 2020 by the state government has seen several worship centres gates earlier shutdown for months amid covid-19, now widely open for worship.
Many place of worship visited last weekend revealed majority complied with the 50% worshiper capacity directives, provided handwash, sanitizer, thermometer guns enforced use of face or nose mask and equally ensured that social distancing is maintained.
However, few worship centres disregarded the state Governor directives as they seated and stand closely, failed to provided the safety items, hold service within the stipulated one hour and dispersed within one hour in Kosofe and Lagos East, Nigeria as monitored.
Different adherents Kosofe Post contacted were excited over the reopen of their various places of worship and the positive impact it provided in curtailing the virus spread spiritually.
Reactions on worship centres reopening in Kosofe

NCDC and allied govt agencies for health should enforce total seal of any religious centre found unhealthy for the worshipers, and, or may constitute hazards to humans both within the centre and environment. The above is my own addition to the set rules for reopening.

We give glory to God that we are given such opportunity. We are glad because the church also has a role to play by praying to God who answers prayers and our need at this period. Great difference will be noticed because the nation will see effects of our collective prayers.

Religion is part of our life style and we can’t run away from it. Faithfuls of different religions have seen it as solutions to their sickness and suffering.Reopen of worship centres is a good one provided the operations are done in line with covid19 preventive measures.Say it loud, Covid19 is real.

It’s a good one by Lagos State government, it’s a fact that will cannot continue to lockdown our economy and even the sacred places, because the religious centre are places of blessings.
I will only urge our respected clergymen to continuously ensure strict compliance with the LASG rule as regards reopening in other to further ensure safety of lives.
