I am a lover of tradition most especially oral tradition and folklores.I use to watch our Yoruba films, where the herbalist while chanting ifa rendition usually says “Oyela,bi a ba fe’mo loju a riran”which simply means, illusion clear out of the way and let me have a clear vision.
We need the concept of ‘Oyela’ in this political dispensation.Illusion needs to give way for clarity.Transparency needs to take over obscurity and the effects of governance be felt by all.
You and I will agree that a politician who is concern with the plights of the masses and who is a thoroughbred man of the people will bring the dividends of democracy to his people rather than someone who has never identify with the masses at any point in time.
Honourable Samuel Olanrewaju Adebayo (SOA) has justified that he is not only thoroughbred but as well a man of the people,by identifying with them at different intervals.Just of recent,he gave palliatives in cash and kinds to over 700 people
despite the fact that he is not in government yet.
Every year, numerous people benefit from Succour Foundation programmes, where free medical care and relief packages,in household and educational items are being doled out yearly.
The inhabitants of Kosofe at large, the Ikosi- Isheri and Agboyi axes are on ground to testify to these humanitarian gestures.
The question now is,if an opportunity to put someone in charge of Kosofe constituency 2 senatorial seat which is vacant arises, who should be put there?
No one except the one who has shown in deeds and characters that he is ready. No more illusion but clarity,no more “I will do these and that”but “I have done these and that and I’m ready to do more!”
Oyela!Illusion clear off!Kosofe need to get it right this time around.
