BOG is the main opponent of All Progressives Congress (APC) Tokunbo Abiru for the Bye-Election following the demise of the late senator Adebayo Osinowo.
However, the fear among the people of Lagos Senatorial District is the ongoing Endsars and police brutality protests across the Lagos East. Residents feared that if movement was sustained for another week the independent Electoral Commission (INEC) may be forced to postpone the election.
The availability of the Nigeria Police who are meant to provide security during the Bye-Election can not be ascertained for now, following the ongoing nationwide protest against a particular unit under them.
According to our intelligent gathering, the Lagos state police command has turned down some candidates in Kosofe who are requesting for their protection during campaigns, which has forced them to resort to self-help.
