Nigerian, Oyedokun Oyewole, joins Friends of Research4Life board

Dr. Oyewole is the pioneer and current President/Chairman-Governing Council, Institute of Information Management (IIM) Africa

A Nigerian, (Dr) Oyedokun A. Oyewole, has been elected to the Board, Friends of Research4Life; effective June 1, 2021.

Research4Life is a global organization that has worked to reduce the knowledge gap between high-income countries and low- and middle-income countries by providing affordable access to high-quality scientific research.

With more than 100,000 peer reviewed journals, books and databases – as well as toolkits, e-learning platforms, free courses and resource centers – Research4Life supports efforts to improve teaching, research, practice and policy-making in health, agriculture, the environment and other life, physical and social sciences.

The body is on a mission to accelerate its goal to provide much-needed access to the world’s premier peer-reviewed research, to extend Research4Life training initiatives that help level the playing field for researchers in lower- and middle-income countries, to significantly increase awareness and usage of the resources offered by the Research4Life publishing partners, and to substantively facilitate the research communication process.

The President, Friends of Research4Life, RichardGedye, confirming Dr. Oyewole’s election into the Board, said: “I am delighted to confirm that you have been successfully elected to the Board of Friends of Research4Life. Welcome to our engaged and enthusiastic group!

We have been looking for Board members who will be actively involved in shaping the Research4Life fundraising strategy and helping to carry out fundraising activities”.

Dr. Oyewole is the pioneer and current President/Chairman-Governing Council, Institute of Information Management (IIM) Africa with offices in USA, UK, Canada, Australia, France, India, South Africa, Nigeria and Ghana.

A computer professional; his professional career in the late 90s has seen him through Swenig System Nigeria, a Swedish company that specializes in information security, sales and support of Dr. Solomon Anti-Virus toolkit, where he worked as the Head of the Computer department with technical support functions.
