How Power tussle made PDP to lose with wide margin in Anthony Village

Apart from the People’s Democratic Party lack of trust in Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission LASIEC the reason the party was defeated by wide margin in the just concluded Anthony Village Election has been revealed.

According to Kosofe findings, the relationship between the PDP Southwest Secretary, Rahman Akanni Owokoniran and Lagos State PDP Deputy Chairman Welly Hassan has been severed in build up to 2019 general elections.

RAO, gathers was the brain behind Welly emergence as Vice Chairman to spite the former occupier Hon. Ola Apena who was strong opposition to their choice of candidate, Jimi Agbaje in 2015. However, in build up to 2019 National Convention by Providence Welly emerged as the party Acting State Chairman following the resignation of Honourable Moshood Salvador who dumped for APC.

However, Welly a media shy Politician allegedly failed to reciprocate RAO gesture when National Delegate slot who will determine the party next President opportunity came in 2019. He gave it to his estranged friend Apena awho supported his wife, Sherifat Hassan second term Emergence as PDP Kosofe Federal Constituency Flagbearer.

Owokoniran who was the major financial of PDP in Kosofe was displeased with the Development according to topflight sources.
The battle lead to 2020 Kosofe Constituency 2 bye Election where Hassan’s Sponsored candidate, Dele Aroyewun, who is said to be more qualified was defeated by Prince Ademola Alebiosu sponsored candidate by Owokoniran who clinched the party ticket.

The same scenario played out in Anthony Village Councilorship race where a visible and more popular candidate, Segun Jimoh was dumped for relatively unknown female candidate, Eniola Bababusola who joined the party few Months to the Election.

Jimoh was allegedly dropped as result of Loyalist of Owokoniran’s Mr .Taiye Oyero who facilitated his entrance into PDP. Many Keen Political watchers are of the opinion that if Jimoh was presented as the party candidate he would have won or defeated by just narrow margin.

Idowu Oluloro the candidate of APC pulled 543 votes to defeat the PDP candidate, Eniola who scored 97 votes.
