The Managing Director and Chief Executive, Federal Housing Authority, Senator Gbenga Ashafa has declared the resolve of FHA to fully support any initiative that addresses Nigerians housing challenges. He made this known at the 15th Abuja International Housing show, while addressing the press.
The FHA MD commended the organizers of the event for a good job. According to him “those who knew the story of this event, can attest to the fact that it has grown from a small scale show, to one of international repute. He called on the MD of the Abuja Housing International Show, Mr. Festus Adebayo, not to relent in his efforts at taking the event to greater heights.
Speaking further, Senator Gbenga Ashafa noted that Federal Housing Authority will continue to support the event, and urged all participants to put the ideas and lessons learnt from the three day event into purposeful use.
He went further to encourage Nigerians to maximise the opportunities provided by the nation’s mortgage system for easier home ownership, noting that it was towards achieving this objective that FHA decided to repositio the Authority’s mortgage arm: FHA Mortgage bank Ltd, to be able to assist Nigerians in accessing mortgages at a friendly interest rate.
Ashafa reiterated FHA’s Commitment to the ‘Rent to Own’ housing delivery model, announcing that some units of the Authority’s houses have been earmarked for that purpose, at the Zuba Mass Housing estate.
