In a bid to open a new chapter in progressing the hidden talents discovered among the youths in Lagos State, the Executive Chairman, Agboyi-Ketu LCDA, Mayor Dele Oshinowo has posited that the acquisition of digital entrepreneurship skills is a new order in empowering the youth.
The chairman made this disclosure at the flag off ceremony of the Youth Employment Engagement initiative of the Lagos State Government,held at Kosofe Local Government Headquarters for participants in Kosofe Local Government, Agboyi-Ketu and Ikosi-Isheri LCDAs.
The chairman commended the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-olu for placing high premium on youth-driven programs.
Mayor Dele further applauded the state government for developing empowerment programs that are in tune with the demands of the modern world.
While urging the participants to take ownership of the scheme in emerging victorious, the council mayor commended the Lagos State Commissioner for Wealth Creation and Employment, Otunba (Mrs.) Yetunde Arobieke for visualizing the Babajide Sanwo-olu’s THEMES agenda to a successful altitude.
On her part, Otunba (Mrs.) Yetunde Arobieke said the program was designed to give world class digital exposure to hidden talents across the length and breadth of the centre of excellence.
According to the Lagos State Commissioner, the community-oriented program is designed to ensure that hidden talents among Lagosians from the age of 18 to 35 are developed digitally for them to become their own boss.
She further added that the investment by the Lagos State Government was to use technology as a measure to tackle youth restiveness.
The program was decorated with the presence of the Executive Chairman, Kosofe Local Government, Barrister Moyosere Ogunlewe along with top bureaucrats from the Ministry of Wealth Creation and Employment.
