There was a king with four wives. One day the King got sick and was on his death bed.

Afraid of being in the after life alone, he turned to his fourth wife whom he loved the most, bought her expensive diamonds, gold and elegant clothing.

He asked her, will you go with me to the after life? The fourth wife replied am sorry I cannot do that and walked away.

He also loved his third wife and was very proud showing her off to neighbouring kingdoms. He asked his third wife, would you accompany me to the after life?

The third wife replied, I love my life too much and I am sorry I cannot go with you to the after life. When you die I am going to remarry.

The second wife had always been there for him in his time of need. He asked if she would accompany him to the after life?

The second wife replied, I am sorry I cannot help you this time but what I can do is arrange and be at your funeral.

A voice called out and said I will leave with you and follow you to wherever you go even if it is the after life.

The king looked and it was his first wife. But this was the wife he took care of the least.

He felt embarrassed and said, I am sorry I should have taken care of you much better and given you more attention when I was alive.

The moral of this story is that we all have four wives. Our fourth wife is our bodies.

We like to decorate it with nice clothing, nice jewellery but in the end it cannot follow us to the after life.

Our third wife is our possessions. We spend time trying to gather possessions but in the end we cannot take them with us to the after life.

When we are gone they will be shared and given to other people. Just like the third wife said, I will remarry.

The second wife is our friends and family. We trust them and they are always there in our time of need. But they too cannot follow us to the after life.

The furtherest they can go is arrange our funeral and send us off.

The first wife, our first wife represents our soul. We usually neglect taking care of our soul the one thing that will follow us to the after life.

Please care for your body and keep it healthy. Enjoy your possessions and the comfort they provide. Cherish your friends and family for the love they provide but do not forget to take care of your soul. Nourish your soul. Take time to be alone. Meditate and be close to it.
