What is the size of your dreams?

Share the news

My dreams and aspirations are so big, you would think I am an eighteen year old just starting life.

Some times when I talk to my team about what we need to achieve wrapped in a time frame, they look at me speechless to respond.

For instance the day at one of our every Monday meetings, I talked extensively about a road map on getting the former American President Barrack Obama to speak at our platforms.

As I explained and re-explained, I could see they were actually beginning to believe it is possible. They started making contributions.

The big idea was not about the visit of the former American President but what the project is about.

It is an emerging global issue which may ignite President Obama’s interest and compell his acceptance to speak.

That however is a story for another day.

The point is i create and build ideas knowing it could take a decade probably two to execute.

I frame them in time/space and continue to work on them. Some of our big projections were executed in less than projected time.

For instance , I decided to invite Vice President Yemi Osinbajo to an LGNA event in 2019. The project i thought, could provoke his interest.

I flew into Abuja. Though I did not know anyone in aso rock, my faith propelled me.

With a letter in my hand and a bucket of hope in my heart, I mysteriously got into aso rock for the first time in my life.

It was not short of a miracle I had access not to see the VP but a top person in that office.

I was advised to invite the CEO of the newly established NFIU Mr Hamman Tukur.

I went back to my hotel room, did another letter and took it personally to the heavily guarded office of the NFIU.

That is the story of how LGNA was able to bring the NFIU to Lagos in 2019.

Sometimes I embark on multiple projects at the same time. I tell myself it is doable. Many times it does not fly.

Micheal Jordan the celebrated legendary basketball player said he failed to score more times than he succeded.

Failure is inevitable, dreams and dreaming isn’t.

At LGNA, we constantly invite people and organisations to our events. we never take it personal if they say no or ignore.

We continue to send invites even when previous were ignored or turned down.

The important thing is one way or the other, our events continue to hold and turns out successful.

The is how and why LGNA has been able to host over fifty seminars, lectures, award presentations etc.

This is how and why many respected technocrats, academicians, public office holders and business Executives got to attend our events.

We are pursuing a dream, going somewhere. So I tell young people, never fail to dream especially of achieving the impossible.

The ability to dream is a gift but the capacity to dream the seemingly impossible, is a rare gift.

People say don’t give up, keep pushing. That to me is not entirely complete.

Do not give up on your dreams because if we can dream it, it is doable.

We just have to discover the route.

Happy sunday
