Carnival of Empowerment programmes in Lagos East

Office holders across in Lagos East Senatorial District in the last few months have embarked on series of carnival like empowerment programmes touching their Constituents lives to ameliorate the degree of poverty and hunger in the Land.

Beyond delivering their constitutional responsibilities; the direct benefits Politicians and public’s gets are the major yardstick used in the evaluation of their representatives’ performance regardless of the life impacting policies, programmes and projects executed and implemented or the number of Motions, bills sponsored by their representatives.

It’s not unusual to see Empowerment back to back from the office holders as governance activities are about to be shutdown as we enter election period in 2022.

Also, private individuals eyeing public office in 2023, who don’t have access and connection yet with Public funds are also not leaving any stone unturned as they used their hard-earned resources to lift others both materially and financially among other things. Because life changing empowerment is the major Language the masses can relate with before any consideration according to our findings.

Kosofe Local Government Chairman, Moyo Ogunlewe started with education palliative by providing Free 150 GCE forms and Tutorial.

Chairman, House Committee on Education, Honourable Sanni Okanlawon through OKLA Scholarship Scheme empowered 22 students of higher institutions with the sum of N100, 000 each to support their education pursuit.

While Honourable Chairman, House Committee on Central Business District, Honourable Femi Saheed told in furtherance to the 400 school chairs and benches he donated is set to surprise the people of Kosofe Constituency 2 on December 16 thereabout.

In Ikosi Isheri Local Council Development Area, Mrs. Samiat Bada reportedly empowered 60 beneficiaries with the sum of 50,000 each.

Agboyi Ketu Local Council Development Area led by Mayor Dele Oshinowo also stormed Oja Oba market at Ketu presented 50,000 cheque to sizeable number of traders.

In Kosofe Federal Constituency, in what that could be better interpreted in a Local parlance Wati magbo which literally mean You must have been hearing of me (my doings). Basically, Constituents have heard that Rotimi Agunsoye facilitated trainings and empower closed to 1200 beneficiaries with cash ranging from 25,000, 50,000 to 100,000 as start up capital.

His Constituents told anxious waiting for his much talked about Bugatti Empowerment programme gathers comprising cars, Mini bus, Tricycle, artisans tools among others.

While lawmaker representing Lagos East senatorial District, Tokunbo Abiru apart from the monthly stipends given to thousands of vulnerable persons started with education section by presenting N50,000 to 600 students in the Senatorial District.

He took it a step further by organizing World class Clinic workshops for 1000 MSMEs and set N100Millions for the kickoff resolving loan at 6% that will kickoff in first quarter of 2022.

As Nigerians enters electioneering campaigns period in 2022 coupled with provision of direct primaries, Nigerians should expect massive individual and collective Empowerment programmes from public and private individuals.
