Taiwo Jimoh Some suspected Aiye cult members have reportedly killed five members of Eiye at Maidan Orile, Mile 12 area of Lagos State.
The clash that led to the death of the five cult group members started on Saturday and escalated to Monday morning when stray bullets flying around from the groups hit a Hausa man who later died at the hospital where he was rushed to for treatment.
It was learnt that four members of Aiye were killed on Sunday night, while one person was also shot dead at mile 12 under bridge on Monday causing panic and confusion in the area. Some of the victims killed were identified as Wale, Eleshin, Dada, while Ologundudu was killed under Mile 12 bridge in the early hours of Monday.

He said everybody had gone to bed when suddenly they heard gun shots from everywhere in the community which lasted for hours.
“After a while the gunshots subsided, it was in the morning when I woke up that I started seeing corpses in the community. I counted three in our area, but later found another corpse of boy called Dada making the total of those killed tobe four and one other at under bridge at mile 12.
Majority of residents of Maidan have moved outof their houses to a safer place. We need police protection in our community, because you never can tell when those boys will come back.
“The rate at which cultists are killing themselves in our community is getting out of hands. Last year a Redeemed Christian Church of God pastor was shot dead on the altar. I don’t know what they are benefiting from killing themselves. We need peace in Mile 12 area generally.
We cannot sleep with our two eye sclosed whenever they start shooting.” A phone technician who simply gave his name as Ibrahim said whenever the cultists are fighting the residents and traders dare not come out until they are done with their rubbish.
