In a bid to improve staff welfare, legislators’ oversight functions, and healthcare delivery service, the Executive Chairman of the IKosi Isheri LCDA area of Lagos, Mayoress Samiat Bada, has donated three utility buses.

The utility vehicles include the Toyota Coaster Bus, a fully equipped ambulance, and a legislator bus, respectively. The
Council Chairman, alongside the Onikosi of Ikosi, HRM Oba Samuel Alamu Oloyede , made the official presentation of the buses during a brief ceremony held at the headquarters of IKosi Isheri LCDa.
While speaking to the press men, Samiat Bada said the council embarked on the initiative in fulfillment of her election campaign promises to the community and the council staff.
She said that for the community, tarring and rehabilitation of roads and other social amenities are ongoing.
Samiat said the staff are behind her success story and there’s a need to make our staff happy and really count by putting an end to the sufferings faced by some staff members who live in Ikorodu and its environs due to the peculiar and chaotic traffic situation within Ikorodu and its environs.
She stressed that the gesture would, to a reasonable extent, assist in alleviating the hardship faced by the workers to a great extent.
Samiat described Ikosi Isheri PHC as one of the best in Lagos State, providing day and night services such as baby deliveries and other health care services, adding that the donation of the ambulance for emergency purposes is a demonstration of the high premium and love her administration placed on people’s lives.
She said the bus donated to the Legislative Arm will assist them in carrying out their oversight functions, among others, while saying adequate maintenance arrangements have been put in place. She urged the council staff and legislators to make good use of the buses by taking ownership.
On his part, Honourable Yunusa Salami, the Council leader of Ikosi Isheri Lcda Legislative, who received a bus on behalf of the Legislators, appreciated the Council Chairman, Mayoress Samiat Bada, for the bus donation.
He described her gesture as a positive development for the legislative council, noting that it would assist them in carrying out their oversight functions and other collective assignments more effectively.
The Medical Health Officer of Ikosi Isheri Public Health Centre, Dr. Owoyele Abdulwasiu, described the ambulance donation as one of the giant strides Mayoress Samiat Bada’s led Administration has made.
Dr. Owoyele explained that the PHC runs a 24-hour service with several referrals within and outside the council area. He went on to say that the council chairman’s intervention would help reduce maternal and infant mortality rates.
“It will go a long way to improve the health profile of the community and the well-being of the people,” Dr. Owoyele Abdulwasiu said.
