Honourable Commissioner for Wealth Creation and Employment, Yetunde Arobieke, also known as YARO, has declared her candidacy for the House of Representatives.

Members of the All Progressives Congress across Kosofe Federal Constituency called on her to take the bull by the horns and make an official declaration to contest for the rep seat in 2023.

The party members in their hundreds from Kosofe, Ikosi Isheri, and Agboyi Ketu thronged the Igboho residence of Arobieke on Friday to make their request across Kosofe Federal Constituency, as they are already running out of patience for her declaration.

Arobieke honoured the supremacy of the party by stepping down for Honourable Dayo Bush, who represented Kosofe Federal Constituency 2007-2015, and the incumbent second-term lawmaker, Honourable Rotimi Agunsoye (2015 to date).

The group explained that Arobieke, being the first female of Agboyi Ketu Lcda Executive Chairman and the current first female Commissioner representing Kosofe in the state cabinet, has assisted several residents without discrimination with job placement at various ministries, departments, and agencies, coupled with life-changing empowerment programmes, among others.

As an associate cabinet member, she played a significant role in pushing for various development projects across Kosofe.

Speaking on behalf of the Pro-Yetunde Arobieke Supporters sole mission, Agboyi Ketu, Supervisor for Agriculture and Community Affairs, Hon. Seyi Ikuejuyone, urged her to run as the first female Member of the House of Representatives come 2023.

In her response, while apologizing to her teeming supporters over the delay in joining the race as earlier expected, she described their surprise visit as a political coup d’etat. She disclosed that she had been consulting and following the party’s processes all along.

Agboyi Ketu’s turn has arrived. The voting power of Kosofe resides in Agboyi Ketu,” Otunba Yetunde Arobieke declared.

“I want to assure you that in 2023, I will be contesting for a House of Representatives seat.”
