The lawmaker representing Kosofe Federal Constituency 2, Hon. Femi Saheed, flags off campaigning on Friday and renders a stewardship account.

The event attracted the Council Chairman, councilors, political, religious, and traditional leaders; market women and men; and youth groups held at Mechanic Compound, Agiliti Mile 12, Kosofe Local Government Area.

Speaking with a Kosofe Post correspondent, he highlighted his accomplishments in less than two years in office.

He said, “This is just a venue to clearly state my stewardship within the 19 months that I have been in the office as a House of Assembly member representing these people with a whole lot of achievements that are unprecedented within a very short while. We provided six boreholes, solar lights, school buses for students’ free rides, 500 pieces of furniture, and wealth to the waste bin; we provided so many amenities within a short time as an honorable representation of them.”

While canvassing for other candidates of the All Progressives Congress for next year’s election, he said that, based on unprecedented circumstances, he deserved to be re-elected.

“I have defended my people holistically and intelligently on the floor of the chamber, fighting for the cause of my constituents. I am not a receptive voice; I am a loud voice. When it comes to chamber issues, and these are some of the features and qualities needed for you as a parliamentarian, and I think within a very short while, I deserve a commendation of my people the way you have seen it here today,” she said.

Continuing, he stated, “I deserve re-election on an unprecedented matter. And moreso, to showcase our party that we have brilliant, intelligent, committed, and passionate people like Ashiwaju Bola Tinubu for president, like our governor, who is doing so well, like our senator, who’s doing well, and like the incoming House of Representatives member, Alhaja Kafilat Ogbara, I believe that people should come together so that we can have one voice and bring dividends of democracy on an enormous scale in a way that has never been witnessed.”

The House Committee Chairman on the Central Business District, Femi Saheed, advises the youth ahead of the 2023 general election to get involved in politics and governance in the direction of restructuring the country.

He said, “My advice to the youth is to see what the council chairmen say. Agboyi Ketu Lcda is doing as a youth; see what Ikosi Isheri Chairman is doing; see what their Representative, Honourable Femi Saheed, is doing; and get involved in politics, get their PVC, and get involved in the restructuring of Nigeria. With your knowledge, you can use your professional experience to improve the lives of many people.

According to him, “I am a highly qualified professional coming into politics. This will enable me to give the best advice and the best representation. We expect so many of these from the youths so that Nigeria can move from where it is now to a better society, where everyone will be committed to the development and growth of this country. We are seriously committed to moving our community and constituency, Lagos State, and the nation at large; that’s the essence of this exercise. The youth should see themselves as a veritable tool in moving this country to the next level.

“They should put sentiment aside and put professionalism into what they are doing with the realization of our development as people so that we too can have a nation we can all be proud of.”

The lawmaker shared his 19 months of office experience. “I have learned a lot in the house. The house is a different thing entirely; it is different from you being a professional; the parliamentary service is a service to humanity at 100 percent, and you have to be committed. And when you put commitment into action, your people love you, and when they love you, they accept you, and when they accept you, you have added your own quota to the development of your nation. And that is the true reflection of what you are seeing with my people here today,” he said.
