The New Nigeria People’s Party candidate for Kosofe Constituency 2 in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Jide Bakare, has called on the people of the constituency to visit the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to collect their permanent voter’s card.

Bakare made the call through his new year’s message issued on Sunday, January 1, 2023, at Kosofe, Lagos.

He wrote, “The year 2022 was no doubt a very challenging year for us all in almost all areas of our lives as a nation and also in our constituency in Kosofe. From our crumbling educational system to the daily woes of insecurity and cultism, to the endless queues at filling stations, to the constant flooding in our remote communities, to the poor road infrastructure and drainages from Agboyi-Ketu to Ikosi-Isheri, to the lack of water in most areas, to the consistent harassment of the ordinary citizen, and so on. The list is endless. And to add salt to the injury is the apparent disconnect of the leadership across the board from the realities the residents are facing on a daily basis so long as their purses and pockets are filled with coins from the commonwealth of the constituency and nation.”

Bakare, who noted that 2023 is a very clear choice before the electorate. said, “We either choose to continue this trajectory of failure or we choose to work to change this narrative of development and governance in Kosofe.”

Continuing, he stated that, “It is for this purpose that myself and my team have resolved against the toothless intimidation of this failed leadership to provide a credible alternative and platform to start putting bold and pragmatic plans to work for the progress and development of Kosofe. And that platform is the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) in Kosofe.

“Our pledge and manifesto have been strategically scripted to put key priority on quality 21st century modeled education in all our public schools, massive vocational training for all our young ones that is structured and sponsored, a structured financial empowerment for all our market men and women, and detailed oversight on all Executive Units/Roles and MDAs to ensure all physical infrastructure and environmental projects or needs are duly executed.

“In the year 2023, Kosofe will win! “The constituents and residents will have their say and bring about genuine leadership that connects with the people,” he assured.

He maintained that the collection of PVCs is key to participating in the forthcoming elections, charging the people of the state not to be disenfranchised.

“We also urge all residents to go out without fear or intimidation to vote wisely during the elections next month and in March. We strongly believe that if we all commit our hearts to the task and we also work for it, we can truly change our constituency and make Kosofe a reference point in the area of development and good governance in Lagos and in the entire nation.”

While urging residents of the Kosofe Constituency to make the right choices to make predictable progress, he prayed that 2023 will be a fruitful and prosperous year for all.
