Hundreds of youths in Badagry/Ojo/Oto-Awori and Iba Local Government Areas (LGA)/LCDA, of Lagos State, have pledged their support for the re – election of the Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Olushola Sanwo – Olu and his deputy, Dr Obafemi Hamzat.
In a statement on Sunday at a Town Hall in Ojo, Lagos was by its Lead Convener, Ms. Abisola Olusanya said the group is canvassing for support for the Sanwo – Olu based on his achievements in the last four years as governor of Lagos.
Olusanya, who is also the state’s Commissioner for Agriculture, noted that the youth under the aegis of Babajide Olushola Sanwo–Olu Youth Professional Support Group (BOSYOPS), pledged their allegiance to support the incumbent who is vying on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Olusanya is made up of vibrant, socio-politically oriented, and technologically savvy individuals who cut across all walks of life.
“BOSYOPS members who are young professionals, technocrats, business owners, social activists, advocates, political analysts, social commentators, intellectuals, and others of likeminds are committed to promoting Sanwo – Olu’s ideology and vision of making Lagos a 21st century economy.
“BOSYOPS group in projecting the achievements of the Sanwo – Olu-led administration in a bid to push for the Governor’s re-election has been canvassing for increased youth participation in the upcoming electoral process.
” This is with a clear structure for mobilisation across all local governments, senatorial, local government, ward, and polling unit coordinators have been going across the state mobilizing many residents who initially are not interested in voting,” she said.
The Commissioner for Agriculture said the objectives of the group were to project Babajide Olushola Sanwo – Olu’s image through the grassroots with a view to building a moral followership.
According to her, it was to model Lagos, showing young achievers who are bold enough to identify with what the government is doing in Lagos and give their support and endorsement.
Olusanya said the objective of the group was to project faces of successful people who want to make a difference in the state.
“It is also project intellectuals who believe in Babajide Olushola Sanwo – Olu’s ideology.
“To shape the ideology of millennials on electoral process and participation and to build a strong chapter in every neighbourhood and local government”, she said.
