The All Progressives Congress Independent Campaign Council, under the directorate for APC candidates matters, has announced a day of fasting and prayer to be held on Thursday ahead of the upcoming elections.
The circular, issued by Director, Directorate for APC candidates, Primate Charles Odugbesi on Wednesday, invited all Nigerians to join the one-day prayer program.
The prayer points listed include a call for divine intervention against any plan by the devil and its cohorts to cause mayhem on election day, the crushing of any individual or group that may rise against them, and that God shall direct every heart and every hand to vote for All APC candidates on the election day.
Primate Charles implored those who cannot fast to pray along with them during the hours of 6 am, 9 am, 12 noon, 3 pm, and 6 pm on Thursday. He prayed that God will reward participants handsomely for their commitment.
The APC has been campaigning extensively ahead of the elections and is hoping for a favorable outcome.
The announcement of the day of fasting and prayer is seen as a move to rally their base and boost their chances of success.
