The Councillor representing the good people of Ward ‘F’ at the Agboyi-Ketu Legislative Council, Hon. Oluwatoyin Akinyemi, has yet again demonstrated her commitment to the welfare and safety of her constituents.
In her latest move, she has replaced worn out wooden electricity poles and procured new electric wires to be installed on the new poles.
Explaining the reason behind the move, Hon. Akinyemi said that she embarked on the replacement to ensure the safety of her constituents and to improve the supply of electricity to the area.
She further highlighted that the worn out wooden electricity poles could pose a danger to her constituents and could lead to transformer explosions, which would undoubtedly affect businesses in the constituency.
Since assuming office, Hon. Akinyemi has embarked on several life-changing programs that have endeared her to the people of her constituency. Some of these programs include the distribution of notebooks and food packs to pupils of Agboyi Primary School, periodic distribution of cash gifts to widows and aged, free birth certificate registration for children, and the distribution of food packages to the needy.
Speaking further, Hon. Akinyemi emphasized that the primary aim of a councillor is to make laws for the progress of their constituents and constituency. However, she stressed that she could not pay lip service to the safety and welfare of her constituents. She noted that it was her duty to take a proactive step to ensure that her constituents are happy and safe.
The move by Hon. Akinyemi has been lauded by her constituents, who have commended her for her commitment to their welfare and safety. They expressed their gratitude and appreciation for her efforts and called on other elected officials to emulate her example.
