The Executive Chairman of Agboyi Ketu Local Council Development Area, Mayor Dele Osinowo, has appealed to the people of the council area to remain calm and avoid any act that can lead to the breakdown of law and order.

Mayor Dele made the call on Saturday while addressing voters at Omololu Street, Alapere, following heated arguments that ensued in some polling units between supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Labour Party during the sorting and counting of the gubernatorial and State Assembly election results.

He urged the crowd not to harass or intimidate anyone and to sustain the peaceful atmosphere in Agboyi Ketu. The Chairman also emphasized that after the election, everyone would still be together.

The Chairman’s call for peace is timely, given the potential for violence and unrest that often accompanies elections. It is essential that residents of Agboyi Ketu LCDA maintain the peaceful atmosphere and avoid any form of violence or disruption of the electoral process.

The Chairman’s appeal for calm and peaceful conduct is also in line with the directive of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for peaceful and transparent elections.

As the results of the elections begin to trickle in, it is crucial that all stakeholders respect the will of the people and abide by the outcome of the elections.
