The recently held Governorship and House of Assembly election in March 2023 saw winners and losers emerging, with surprising outcomes that will continue to be analyzed by bookmakers for months to come. In some prominent All Progressives Congress (APC) leader’s wards, the party lost, while in other areas, they emerged victorious.
The Oloworo of Oworo, Former Kosofe Local Government Vice Chairman, HRM Oba Babatunde Saliu Elebo Il, and Former Kosofe Local Government Chairman, Hon Ademuyiwa Adedeji, left their comfort zones and palace to ensure that APC in Oworonshoki, Ward A, area of Kosofe Local Government emerged victorious. They not only went out to cast their votes but also went around to reach out to electorates.
However, in Ward B, Ifako-Gbagada, the highest-ranking APC making organ Governor Advisory Council Member, Omoba Olumuyiwa Sosanya and his son, Kosofe Local Government Vice Chairman, Hon. Wole Sosanya, Former Kosofe Local Executive Secretary, Hon Gbemisola Ketiku, and serving Member of Lagos State Audit Board Commission, Hon. Musilu Aigoro, were defeated by Labour Party.
Similarly, in Ward C, Anthony Village, Ajao Estate, Maryland, the ward of APC -GAC Lagos East Senatorial Leader, Otunba Bushira Alebiosu, Hon. Sanni Ganiu Okanlawon, Hon. Ibrahim Mustapha, Assistant APC state Secretary, and Former Kosofe Local Government Sole Administrator, Hon, Jumoke Animaun, Kosofe Local Legislative Arm leader, Hon. Idowu Oluloro, and others, were thrashed by Obident tsunami.
However, in Ogudu’s Ojota, WARD D, the fourth ward that makes up Kosofe constituency 1, where Executive Chairman of Kosofe Local Government, Hon. Moyosore Ogunlewe, Secretary to Local government, Hon. Fatai Gbadebo, among others hailed from, delivered their votes to APC.
In the just-concluded Governorship and House of Assembly election, among the four wards, Oworonshoki and Ogudu’s Ojota wards are the saving grace for APC and the winner in Kosofe constituency 1.
