MY CRITICAL EVALUATION : OBI & OBEDIENTS AND THE NEW PHASE OF POLITICS IN NIGERIA

Share the news

In any scenario, one has to learn something. When any Sociopolitical incidence rears their ugly head, as exemplified in the accidental call of youths for change of leadership (shrouded in the garb of hatred for other Nigerians, tribalism, Christianization, of course, Peter Obi ask(ed) churches to take back their nation, etc) by Peter Obi, there are LESSONS to learn. Some are below

1. Man can aspire as or beyond their master – Atiku Abubakr saw nothing which could earn him political victory from Peter Obi and rejected Peter Obi’s bid to be his running mate in the 2023 presidential race. Peter Obi never played himself down, begging Atiku Abubakr to give him minister, per adventure, he won presidential election. Obi just aimed higher and sought to challenge his lord – Atiku Abubakr, slugging it against him via another political platform, Labour Party. To many Nigerians today, Peter Obi has wrested a place of political relevance to himself. The current winner of the presidential election, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu would have even found a space in his heart to dine politically with Peter Obi in his political future.

2. Nothing can’t be Achieved in Life – since Nigerian independence, going through political history of Nigeria, no any politician of the Ibo extraction, living and the dead, has achieved the current feat of Peter Obi, in spite of the fact that he lost the election. Peter Obi won states in the North Central, almighty Lagos which has never been won by any opposition party in Nigerian political history in the Southwestern Nigeria, entire South East, South-South, and some handfuls of other geopolitical zones in Nigeria. This is a great lesson : The mighty can fall while the lowly can tower and rise beyond the imaginary !

3. Restore of Igbos Dignity -Igbos would be more respected politically with the presidential election challenge and presidential feats recorded in the annal of political history and their relevance in such Nigeria history.

4. Determiners of presidential Election Winner/Trajectory in Nigeria – Christian Association of Nigeria has realised the limit of her political strength in Nigerian history. Christianity/Christians, being most politically motivated people in Nigeria bloated and overemphasized their strength to singlehandedly make Christian Peter Obi the president of Nigeria. Pulpits were used to preach hatreds against Muslims and presented the 2023 presidential election to their congregations as religious obligations to wrest power from their percieved Muslim dominated APC and Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The pastors, reverends and many high authorities in those Churches desecrated their religious tenets, cursing whoever might vote APC or Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, forgetting that Bola Ahmed Tinubu has done more favours, politically to the Christians than Muslims and the love the Jesus Christ preached about being your brother’s keeper and all other kindness in the Bibles. Finally, after the presidential election, they had their ambition partially achieved, having won Lagos and ten more states dominated by Christians. However, the battle was won, war was lost. We learn here that Christians alone can’t make anyone president in Nigeria likewise Muslims. Both religions should have common Political goals in entrenching any candidate with acceptable political values who can be of political advantage to Nigerians in case they come to power.

5. Sacrifice – we learn how best can one use everything in their disposal to achieve their goals. Igbos, having onerous political ambition – producing Nigeria President of Igbos origin, paid dearly (sacrificed) to attain this goal. As claimed from some quarters, Igbos trooped into Nigeria from the East to register in Lagos so as to win Lagos during presidential election. Some claim Igbos from Tanzania, Gabon, Cote D’voire, South Africa, etc marched onto Lagos to wrest Lagos from Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and shame the sleeping giants – Yorubas of Lagos. With the inbuilt power in the spirit of the Igbos, they were successful in winning presidential election in Lagos state. As said earlier above, no opposition political association has ever won election in Lagos since her creation. Thus, time, human, material and all other resources expended by the Zionist Igbos never go in vain. In the early morning of February 29th,’23, the Lagosians, mainly Yorubas just woke up by the shock and jubilation of the Ibos winning presidential election in Lagos. Kudos to the spirit of sacrifice of the Igbos !

6. Sincerity – ability of the APC politicians to match their actions with what they say were put on trial with the tenacity and sacrifice of the LP and the Igbos in the recently conducted presidential election of Feb.25th,’23. Nobody knew with all One Million Match Rallies organized for BAT, uncountable numbers of campaigns and rallies, billions of hard currencies spent, boast and all other shows of power and mobilisation for the attainment of the presidential ambition of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, that Labour Party (LP), the most mocked politcal party in Lagos, the political association without political structure, the poor peopled party, etc would THRASH the mighty APC, the largest political party in Africa. This is later unraveled when the sincerity of the APC politicians are critically examined
– (a). The leaders given monies to mobilise didn’t give out such money for mobilisation for the success of BAT agenda.
(b). Factions here and there – crisis has rocked the APC before the presidential election. Not only Kosofe is consumed with this squabbles or battle for supremacy, but also some other local governments in Lagos. All just pay lips service but never liked or wanted to see Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu successful or win this year’s presidential election of February 25th,’23 for embezzling money meant for campaign while some, as alleged, sat down, watching how BAT would lose the election.
(c). Segregation of party Members – across some affected local Governments in Lagos, APC never went into the presidential election as ONE indivisible entity. Some leaders deliberately edged out some emerging leaders in the affected local government so as to maintain their own egos. Some used their people given mandate (political offices) to murder political careers of other party members. Some public office holders went ahead, stooping low to use their good (bad) offices to murder political ambitions of their party members, all in the name of their democratic choice/they did not support their political camps. Where is the sincerity of collective and mutual gains of democratic Government we claim?

7. The Lord’s is Power – He gives whom He wishes. Uncountable numbers of church dealers gave false prophecies that if God actually exists, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu would not win the ’23 Presidential election. If The Almighty were CAN and the Xtian Zealots, Bola Ahmed Tinubu Jagaban wouldn’t have emerged winner of the presidential election.
