Former Ikosi Isheri LCDA Chairmanship Aspirant, Prince Bidemi Akintunde, has recently launched a subtle publicity and awareness campaign ahead of the 2025 Lagos council elections. Although he is yet to make an official declaration, his media team has begun posting digital flyers on social media platforms to garner support for his candidacy.
One of the flyers posted by his team reads, “For equality, inclusiveness, Development, and sincere open-door policies,” indicating that Akintunde’s political platform is centered around these values.
Akintunde, who played a prominent role in various diaspora campaign groups for the All Progressives Congress (APC), has set his sights on the Ikosi Isheri LCDA number one seat, rather than state speculated appointments.
According to Kosofe Post, at least ten contestants, including the incumbent chairman, Samiat Bada, will vie for the council ticket on the APC platform. However, Akintunde’s interest in the position has created some buzz and interest among voters in the LCDA.
In response to the APC’s dominance in Kosofe, opposition parties such as the Labour Party (LP), People’s Democratic Party (PDP), and New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) are expected to analyze their strengths and weaknesses and present a credible alternative candidate for the Chairmanship position in the upcoming elections.
With the political climate heating up in Lagos State, Prince Bidemi Akintunde’s subtle publicity and awareness campaign could be a sign of more exciting political developments to come.
